Advanced Video Editing – FCP on Mac OS

Editing means arranging the shots to give a meaningful scene or sequence. Simply stated, the primary objective of editing is to tell the story in the best possible way. Film and Television are the most powerful and influential media of the century. Both have been used for good and for less than good intentions. As a result, the editor is a very powerful person because of his/her potential influence. The role of an editor expanded from simple technical functions to a form of artistic expression. In the past, editing material and changing a project was a time-consuming process. With linear editing video editors had to edit everything onto a tape sequentially, one shot after another, from the beginning to the end. If you wanted to change a series of shots in the middle of your edit, you have to re-edit everything forward. Along with the ubiquitous use of computers in video post production, non-linear editing programs such as Final Cut Pro give you an amazing amount of flexibility to edit and re-edit your programs. Final Cut Pro provides a professional environment in which to edit video, mix audio and composite graphics together to create any kind of video program you can imagine. Final Cut Pro is a flexible tool; when combined into Macintosh computers and optional third party hardware, you can capture footage from nearly any video or audio format. FCP is also a standard quick time application, and you can import and export a wide variety of video, audio, graphics and animation file types. This flexibility makes FCP well suited for projects ranging from 30 seconds commercial spots to feature length films. The only limit is your Creativity. This course at PVTI trains students to work with professional equipments like using Macintosh computers.   Classes will be held three days in a week i.e. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
